The underpainting is dry, so now it’s time to have some fun! I coated the entire painting with a very thin layer of Rublev Oleoresgel tinted with ivory black and burnt umber. Then, into that wet layer, I glazed in some areas of color for the milky way, followed by a first pass over the sky with a generous spattering of stars. I love the gritty texture the glaze layer gave to the underpainting. I plan on letting a lot of that show through in the rocks.
